No refunds will be given, but substitutions are allowed. To make a substitution you must contact us before the class you registered for takes place. You may apply this payment to another class within 6 months. If the payment is not applied, you forfeit your payment.

As we welcome you back to in-person learning at Camp Fire First Texas, we will follow CDC guidelines to help protect against COVID-19, including:

-Requiring the wearing of masks while in the Camp Fire building 
-Using alternate table seating configurations 
-Maintaining social distancing

Intentionally designed to increase skills of early childhood professionals who facilitate the professional growth of early education teachers, this course is ideal for mentors, coaches, directors, assistant directors, and any others who impact the work of early childhood education teachers. There is no pre-requisite for taking this course- it is open to anyone. Attend a single class or complete the certification. You must attend all 6 classes and pass the test to receive certification.

There is a 30 minute lunch break, on your own, for classes that end at 4:30pm. Class on October 26 is 9am-1pm.

Mentor Model & Approaches, Teacher Self-Assessments - Discover the mentor model for working with teachers and the mentoring approaches to get the greatest results. Also, explore ideas for teacher self-assessments.

Oct. 26, 2021 ***(9 am- 1 pm)

DAP- Infants, Toddlers and Pre-K - Review the importance of developmentally appropriate practices and discuss the connections to the state guidelines.

Strength-Based Coaching- Gradual Release Model & Facilitating Change - Learn how to focus the mentoring visits on teacher strengths and facilitate lasting change in instructional practices with the Gradual Release of Responsibility.

Classroom Visits with Focused Observations- Preparing for the visit is a key element of a mentoring role. Discuss observing classroom practices during classroom visits and initiating the coaching conversation.

Nov.16, 2021

Reflection - Asking the right questions can guide teachers in becoming reflective in their daily instruction. Discuss closing the visit and developing the action plan.
